Nicholas Caldwell Crushes Trials Cut at Sarasota and Breaks 8 GCST Records With 2 Swims Nicholas Caldwell punched his ticket to the USA Olympic Team Trials in the 1500 Free at Sarasota on Sunday May 18, 2008. Nicholas swam an outstanding 15:42.12 to qualify for Omaha while holding 31 second 50 splits for the entire race, and broke the GCST 15-16 Boys and Senior Men's 1500 Free records. Nicholas' split at the 800 of 8:23.62 broke the GCST 15-16 and Senior records. Nicholas also broke the GCST 15-16 Boys (Brandon Edwards 2002), and the Senior Men's 100 Free record with a 55.28.
