GCST explodes at Junior Nationals
GCST swimmers have a blast at Juniors...Time drops in 11 of 14 swims for best JR. Nationals ever
The Long Course Junior Nationals in Seattle, Wa has been the most successful Juniors for GCST ever. We had 11 of 14 swims that were personal best times, and 2 swims were seasonal best times. We landed in Seattle on Sunday and went downtown to see the Space Needle. The swimmers also got to see the fish market, and experience blackberry picking as they were abbundant around the pool. We had a great time and some GREAT TIMES. Not even a bomb threat delay on Friday before the distance session could slow us down.

Friday Session Results: Harry Stephenson and Greg Bowser blasted the 800 Free today in Seattle after an hour and a half delay due to a bomb threat at the pool. Harry Stephenson swam an 8:21.90 to win his heat, and dropped 9 seconds to qualify for the US Open. Greg Bowser dropped almost 5 seconds in the 800 to post an 8:28.25 and finished 3rd in his heat.
Thursday Prelims Results: Greg Bowser swam a personal best time in the 200 Free prelim heats with a 1:56.39 to finish 98 out of 206, and had one of the fastest 4th 50 splits in the event. Molly DuBrasky swam a 2:08.19, which is a seasonal best time.
Wednesday Prelims Results: GCST had an awesome morning as we had 3 swims, 3 best times, and 3 heat wins. Molly DuBrasky led off with a 4 second time drop in the 400 Free and a new best time of 4:21.34, and led her heat from the beginning of the race to finish 31st. Harry Stephenson was up next and dropped 4 seconds in the 400 Free to win his heat from behind on the last 50 to post a 4:04.60 to finish 64th. Greg Bowser finished up the morning with another come from behind 400 Free swim as he dropped almost a second in a very tough 20th heat out of 25 to go by the leader on the last 10 meters to finish 46th.
Tuesday Finals Results: Harry Stephenson swim faster tonight to finish 10th in the 400 IM B Final with a 4:29.18
Tuesday Prelim Results: Harry Stephenson swam 5 seconds below his best 400 IM time in prelims to qualify for tonight’s B Final with a 4:29.29. Harry’s swim is below the 2008 Olympic Trials standard and a new GCST team record.
Monday Results: Molly Dubrasky swam a personal best time in the 200 Fly with a 2:18.76 to finish 46th. Greg Bowser swam a personal best time in the 200 Fly with a 2:09.21 to finish 116th. Harry Stephenson swam a 2:10.57 in the 200 Fly to finish 134th. Harry swam an outstanding 15:55.06 in the 1500 Free, and finished 24th. Harry dropped 16 seconds to make his first US Open qualifying time. Molly swam a 9:04.14 in the 800 Free which is a seasonal best time to finish 52nd.
