FLAGS News: Great swims on Sunday lead GCST to 7th place finish

GCST swimmers had an outstanding day on the last day of the Florida Swimming Age Group Champs in Clearwater.

GCST finished 7th in Team Standings despite only being the 12th largest team in the meet.  The GCST 11-12 Girls finished 2nd in the Age Group High Point standings.

2/20/11....Sunday PM...Savannah Bowser won the Gold Medal in the 11-12 Girls 200 IM to pick up her 3rd win of the meet and finish 1 point out of the age group high point award. Blake Woodrow won the Gold Medal in the 13-14 Boys 1650 Free.  Bean Faunce took the Bronze Medal as she finished 3rd in the 11-12 Girls 200 IM, and 14th in the 50 Breast.  Courtney DeVeny finished 4th in the 200 Back, 6th in the 200 IM. Darrien Heil finished 6th in the 11-12 Boys 200 IM.  Eric Ordaz finished 7th in the 13-14 Boys 1650,  and finished 16th in the 100 Free.  Kaitlyn Hauser finished 4th in the 11-12 Girls 100 Free, and finished 5th in the  100 Back.

2/20/11...Sunday AM...Jessie Walsh finished the meet in 3rd place in the 10 & Under Girls High Point standings as claimed her 3rd Silver Medal as she finished 2nd in the 10 & Under Girls 200 IM, and finished 4th in the 100 Back.  Hannah VanDress finished 9th, and Madeline McAdams finishged 13th in the 10 & Under Girls 200 IM.  Hannah VanDress finished 13th in the 10 & Under Girls 100 Back.  Zach Brewer finished 12th in the 10 & Under Boys 100 Back.

2/19/11...Saturday PM....GCST swimmers have another great night at FLAGS as Courtney DeVeny won the Gold Medal in the 13-14 Girls 100 back and qualified for Short Course Junior Nationals, and finished 3rd in the B Final of the 500 Free.  Savannah Bowser won the Gold Medal in the 11-12 Girls 500 Free, and finished 3rd in the 100 Fly.  Kaitlyn Hauser swam a great 11-12 Girls 500 Free to claim the Bronze Medal while just missing the Silver. Blake Woodrow had two tough doubles as he finished 2nd to claim the Silver Medal in the 13-14 Boys 500 Free, and finished 4th in the 200 Fly.  Eric Ordaz swam a great 500 Free to finish 6th in the 13-14 event.  Bean Faunce won the B Final in the 11-12 Girls 100 Fly. Darrien Heil finished 3rd in the 11-12 Boys 500 Free B Final. GCST 11-12 Girls finished 5th in the 400 Free Relay.

2/19/11...Saturday AM...Zach Brewer finished 15th in the 10 & Under Boys 500 Free. Hannah VanDress finished 16th in the 10 & Under Girls 100 Fly. Jessie Walsh finished 9th in the 10 & Under Girls 50 Free.
GCST 10 & Under Girls finished 7th in the 200 Medley Relay.

2/18/11....Friday PM...Savannah Bowser strikes Gold to WIN the the 11-12 Girls 200 Free, and takes the Silver Medal in the 100 IM. Kaitlyn Hauser picked up the Silver Medal in the 11-12 Girls 200 Free, and finished 7th in the 50 Fly.  Blake Woodrow took the Bronze Medal in the 400 IM, and finished 4th in the 200 Free.  Courtney DeVeny finished 4th in the 13-14 Girls 400 IM.  Eric Ordaz finished 8th in the 13-14 Boys 200 Free, and 10th in the 400 IM.
Bean Faunce finished 13th in the 11-12 Girls 100 Breast. Darrien Heil finished 12th in the 11-12 Boys 100 Breast.
GCST 11-12 Girls took the Silver Medal in the 400 Medley Relay.  GCST 11-12 Boys finished 11th in the 400 Medley Relay.

2/18/11...Friday AM...Jessie Walsh claims her second Silver Medal at FLAGS as she finished 2nd in the 10 & Under 200 Free, and also finished 6th in the 100 Breast. Hannah VanDress finished 14th in the 10 & Under 200 Free, and Madeline McAdams scored in the 200 Free with a 15th place finish.  The GCST 10 & Under Girls finished 3rd in the 200 Free Relay. The GCST 11-12 Girls 200 Free Relay finished 7th.  The GCST 11-12 Boys 200 Free Relay finished 15th.

2/17/11...Thursday Night...10 & Under Girls 500 Free had Jessie Walsh finish 2nd to take the Silver Medal, Hannah VanDress 9th, and Madeline McAdams 10th.  10 & Under Boys 500 Free had Ethan Shaw finish 15th. 11-12 Girls 1000 Free had Savannah Bowser finish 2nd to claim the Silver Medal, Kaitlyn Hauser finished 3rd to take the Bronze Medal, and  Bean Faunce 9th. 11-12 Boys 1000 Free had Darrien Heil finish 8th.  13-14 Boys 1000 Free had Blake Woodrow finish 2nd  to claim the Silver Medal with an awesome 9:35.10, and Eric Ordaz Jr. finished 9th. Ethan Shaw finished 15th in the 10 & Under Boys 500 Free.
