OPEN WATER FESTIVAL IS STILL A GO!
While the Open Water swim loyalists await USA Swimming’s decision in regards to relocating the 10K World Trials and 5K Nationals, plans move forward on GCST’s behalf in order to balance the Festival which will continue as planned.
The dates and events are listed as follows:
Saturday, June 11th
8:00 a.m. The Canadian 10K World Trials and USMS 10K Nationals
6:00 p.m. The Crippen Mile
Sunday, June 12th
8:00 a.m. Florida Swimming Open Water Championships
Florida Swimming VS. Gold Coast Open Water Challenge
As always, the Open Water Festival located on Ft. Myers Beach will be one of the safest open water venues in 2011. Unprecedented assistance from Lee County Parks and Recreation, Bonita Springs Fire and Rescue, Ft. Myers Beach Fire and Rescue, Sanibel Fire and Rescue, as well as the Lee County Emergency Operations Center will once again assure a safe, fast, fun-filled event.
