From The Banner: Estero still producing double winners
ESTERO — When Molly DuBrasky swam for Estero High, the Wildcats were essentially guaranteed to have a double winner at big meets.
Even though DuBrasky has moved on to the University of Florida’s swim team, Estero doesn’t show any signs of slowing down in the double winner department.
Sophomore Courtney DeVeny and freshman Danilea Jordan each earned two individual wins at Monday’s Lee County Athletic Conference meet at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Needless to say, the future looks bright for Estero.
“It’s exciting to have them as double winners as underclassmen,” said Estero swim coach Jen Seluk. “It is a new page for us having a freshman and a sophomore as a double winner with others following in seconds or thirds right behind.”
For the second year in a row, DeVeny won county titles in the 100 yard backstroke and 200 individual medley. Read more..
