GCST IS THE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM IN OPEN WATER FOR THE 4TH YEAR IN A ROW
GCST had a dominating presence in the Florida Swimming Open Water Championships held at Miromar Lakes, FL on August 28th, 2012. GCST was led by first place finishes by Daniella Jordan (13-14 Girls), and Eddie Zacka (15-16 Boys), and Zach Jamieson (Senior Boys). Makailey Hauser finished 3rd in the 10 & Under Girls 800. Jessie Walsh finished 5th in the 11-12 Girls 2.5K. Savannah Bowser finished 3rd, and Susana Peszek finished 5th in 13-14 Girls 5K. Lexi Faunce finished 2nd in the 15-16 Girls 5K. Jack Moreland finished 4th in the 10 & Under Boys 800. Karsten Kunst finished 4th in the 11-12 Boys 2.5K. Ryan Sorenson finished 7th, Nick Deguzman finished 10th, and Darrien Heil finished 11th in the 13-14 Boys 5K. Matt Nieilsen finished 3rd in the 15-16 Boys 5K.
In team scoring GCST was 1st with 223 points, followed by 2nd place team West Florida Lightning Aquatics with 111 points, and 3rd place team Bolles School Sharks with 94 points.
