HIGH SCHOOL: FHSAA 2A STATE RESULTS
Senior Eddie Zacka had an outstanding swim in the 500 Free to come from behind in one of the most exciting races of the meet and take 3rd in the 500 Free at the FHSAA 2A Finals with a personal best time of 4:36.44. Eddie finished his high school swimming career with a very good 1:44:57 in the 200 Free (10th) to just miss wining the Consol Final.
Senior Courtney DeVeny closed out her high school swimming career with 5th place finish in the 200 IM with a 2:08.96, and won the Consol Final in the 100 Back to finish 9th with a 58:30.
Bean Faunce swam a very good 100 Fly to just miss the medal stand in a close finish to take 4th with a 58.36. Bean also finished 7th in the 200 IM with a 2:10.73 after a very strong PBT 2:08.48 in prelims.
Savannah Bowser finished 7th in the 200 Free with a 1:54.54, and 5th in the 500 Free with a 5:02.71, and a 4:59.53 in prelims. Savannah had a PBT in the 200 Free prelim heats with a 1:53.72.
Senior Lexi Faunce swam an outstanding PBT in the 500 Free prelims with a 5:06.37 to qualify 8th, and then swam a 5:08.41 in Finals to finish 8th. Lexi also finished 16th in the 200 Free Consol Final with a 1:57.76 (1:57.68 prelims).
Senior Nikki Mccollum swam a PBT in the 500 Free Consol final to finish 12th with a 5:09.92.
Darrien Heil swam a 4:55.33 to finish 2nd in the Consol Final to take 10th overall with a 4:55.33.
Paige Madden finished 24th in the 50 Free with a 26.19, and 22nd in the 100 Back with a 1:02.77.
The GCST girls helped lead Estero High School to their highest finish at States as they captured 2nd in the team totals.
