SENIOR CHAMPS RESULTS
The 2014 Florida Senior Championships start on February 27th, and run through March 2nd at the YMCA Aquatic Center in Orlando, FL.
GCST swimmers attending the meet are Elijah Benzon, Nick Deguzman, Paige Madden, Bean Faunce, Nikki McCollum, Courtney DeVeny, Blake Woodrow, Eddie Zacka, and Lexi Faunce.
Sunday: Nikki McCollum finished 9th in the Sr. Women's 1650 Free with an 11.46 personal best time drop to go 17:44.71. Lexi Faunce finished 11th in the Sr. Women's 1650 Free with an 18:00.23. Bean Faunce swam a 2:10.45 to finish 9th in the prelims of the 14-16 Girls 200 Fly to qualify for Consol Finals. Courtney DeVeny swam a 2:14.80 to finish 19th and qualify for the Bonus Final of the Sr. Women's 200 Fly. Paige Madden swam a personal best time in the 100 Free with a 1 second drop to go 55.74. Eddie Zacka dropped 4.89 seconds in the 200 Back with a 2:03.09.
Saturday Finals: Bean Faunce finished 5th in the 14-16 Girls 200 IM Championship Final with a 2:10.99. Courtney DeVeny finished 8th in the Senior Women's 100 Back Championship Final, and 2nd in the 200 IM Consol Final with a 2:09.98. Eddie Zacka finished 7th in the 500 Free Championship Final with a 4:39.98. Lexi Faunce finished 5th in the Bonus Final with a 5:10.92. Nikki McCollum finished 8th in the Bonus Final of the 500 Free with a 5:15.00. Blake Woodrow finished 7th in the Bonus Final of 500 Free with a 4:46.86.
Saturday Prelims: Bean Faunce qualified 4th in the 14-16 Girls 200 IM Final. Courtney DeVeny qualified 8th in the Senior Women's 100 Back, and 13th in the 200 IM. Eddie Zacka qualified 8th in the 500 Free for Finals. Lexi Faunce qualified 23rd. Nikki McCollum qualified for the Bonus Final of the 500 Free. Blake Woodrow qualified for the Bonus Final of 500 Free. Best times were turned in by Lexi Faunce in the 100 Back, and Paige Madden in the 200 IM. The GCST women's, 200 Medley Relay dropped 4 seconds, and the men's relay dropped 1 second in the morning session.
Friday Finals: Bean Faunce finished 2nd in the Consol Finals in the 14-16 Girls 100 Fly with a 58.84, and swam a 4:33.87 in the 400 IM Championship Final to finish with 7th. Blake Woodrow won the Bonus Final in the 400 IM with a 4:10.94.
Friday Prelims: Bean Faunce qualified for Consol finals in the 14-16 Girls 100 Fly with a 58.91 to finish 10th in prelims, and swam a 4:32.49 in the 400 IM prelim heats to finish with 5th fastest time in the morning to qualify for the Championship Final. Blake Woodrow qualified for the Bonus Final in the 400 IM. Elijah Benzon swam a personal best time in the 400 IM with an 8 second drop to finish with a 4:41.78.
Thursday: Eddie Zacka dropped 13 seconds in the 1000 Free with a 9:33.06 to finish 4th. Blake Woodrow swam a 9:9:42.12 to finish 5th in the 1000 Free and his best time in the event in 2 years. Nikki McCollum dropped 8 seconds in the 1000 Free to finish 10th with a 10:34.56.
