When a child gazes upon the ocean and sees his mother or father swimming in the open water, sometimes struggling, what can he possibly be thinking? Is dad cold? Is mom tired? Is dad hungry? GCST swimmers travelled to Miami to compete in the Swim Miami Open Water Race on April 6, 2013. GCST Senior swimmer Hannah Albion has made a verbal commitment to attend and swim for Bowling Green State University, in Bowling Green, OH. Hannah will graduate from Canterbury School in May. Congratulations to Hannah and her family.

We are holding a meeting at FGCU on Wednesday evening for swimmers and parents of high school swimmers that want to know more about the college recruiting process, and what it means in regards to your swimmer. The meeting will be from 6:30 to 7 PM on 3/27.

STUART, Fla. – The Florida High School Athletic Association has reached an agreement with the Treasure Coast Sports Commission to host the FHSAA Swimming and Diving Finals at Sailfish Splash Waterpark and Aquatics Center in Stuart. The contract is a three-year commitment beginning with competition this November and concluding with the state championship meet in November of 2015. GCST swimmer Hunter Seluk received a nice award from the Lee County Sheriff's Office in the "Do The Right Thing" program. Hunter was nominated for the award by Kathy Rairdon for kindness shown to Gio Medina. Gio had a function to attend after practice, and got his clothes wet, so Hunter offered his dry clothes to Gio so he could arrive on time. Congratulations to Hunter!
