Senior team will be on break from July 25-29. JUNIOR, GOLD, SILVER, AND FGCU BRONZE will be on break from August 1st-7th.  SAN CARLOS BRONZE will be on break from August 15th-19th. North Team will not be on break. FGCU will be closed for maintanence from August 8th through the 20th.  Summer Schedule ends on July 30th. Florida Swimming has released the final roster, and GCST's Blake Woodrow is headed to Raleigh, NC for the 2011 Southern Zone Age Group Championships on July 26-31.  For more information about the meet click here.

If you've noticed a new face in the pool lately his name is Ruben Rivero. He is one of the fastest 10 year olds in Puerto Rico.  Ruben contacted GCST a few months ago to inquire about stepping up his training.  Ruben came to Fort Myers a few weeks ago and has done a great job training with Coach Connie Henshaw.   Ruben swam the GCST Friday Night at the Races and lowered all four of his 50 meter event times.  Ruben then flew back home and competed in a meet...

DuBrasky, and DeVeny Lower Team Records 6 GCST Records fell at the Southern Zone Southern Sectional Championships at Gainesville, FL on July 7-10, 2011.  Molly DuBrasky broke the Senior Girls 100 Fly, and 17-18 Girls 100 Fly, and 200 Fly records.  Courtney DeVeny lowered the 15-16 Girls 100 Back, 200 Back, and 400 IM records.  Sunday Finals: Molly DuBrasky swam a 2:20 in the A Final of the 200 Fly to finish 6th.  Courtney DeVeny finished 7th in the B Final of the 200 Back with a 2:25.9. We had great weather at the T2 Mini Meet in Naples on July 5th that saw GCST swimmers come up with 4 new FLAG cuts.  Mikayla Puckett made her first cuts in 10 & Under Girls as she swam under the standards in the 50, and 100 Fly to earn her trip to Orlando.  Adding cuts to their slate of FLAG times were Haley Tompkins in the 11-12 Girls 100 Fly, and Jessie Walsh making the cut in the 11-12 Girls 100 Breaststroke. We had a smaller gator in the pool this morning for the second straight day. Molly DuBrasky is a Gator also. Go Gators!

An alligator got into FGCU this morning to get in great workout with GCST. He just couldn't keep up with us.  One of the guards had to get in and catch it by hand and then handed it to coach Don until he could get out and eject the offending reptile from the facility.
