    Five star Harry Stephenson listed his college of choice at Columbia this weekend. Stephenson, who swims for the Gulf Coast Swim Team and preps at Lely High, has long course senior national cuts in the 1500-meter free (15:55.06) and 400-meter IM (4:29.18).

USA Swimming has posted the final National Top 10 list for 2008-2009 for Short Course Yards and long Course Meters.  GCST swimmers making the list are: Girls 11 - Savannah Bowser 3rd  800 Meter Free. Boys 12 - Blake Woodrow 2nd 800 Meter Free, 3rd 400 Meter Free, and 8th 1000 Yard Free. GCST has 4 High Point award winners, 3 runner-ups, and 10 new championship cuts (corrected due to incorrect scoring setup by host) GCST swimmers captured 4 out of 8 High Point Winner Awards at the SWIM Naples Meet on October 16-18, 2009. We also had 3 runner-up High Point Awards. GCST swimmers have a great time at the beach with Olympians and open water swimming Aaron Piersol’s "Race for the Oceans" benefit for Oceana came to Fort Myers Beach on October 10, and 11.  Several GCST swimmers participated in the clinics and race events. They had a great time meeting Olympians Brendan Hansen, Hailey Piersol, Fran Crippen, Aaron Piersol, and Rowdy Gaines at the beach.
