 GCST donates $1000.00 to Haitian Earthquake Relief The GCST (SFSCI) Board of Directors approved a $1000.00 donation from the Winter Invitational Meet proceeds to the American Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund.  We urge anyone that can give, to help with this major disaster in our backyard. The Gulf Coast Swim Team is starting a new Masters Swimming program under the direction of coaches Gregg Cross, and Don Henshaw.  The program is open to any area US Masters registered swimmers, and USA Triathlon members that want to get in better shape, and improve their stroke technique. Program cost is $35 per month. GCST is now a member of FL LMSC and US Masters Swimming. Morning and evening workouts will be offered at San Carlos Park Pool, and FGCU.  For more information click here.

Short Course Junior Nationals Harry Stephenson, and Molly DuBrasky travel to Columbus, OH to compete at Ohio State University in the 2009 USA Swimming Short Course Junior National Championships. GCST won the 1st place visiting team trophy at the SYS Turkey Meet at Sarasota YMCA on Sunday November 22, 2009. Kyle Snew broke 2 GCST records in the 15-16 Boys age group as he replaced Greg Bowser’s 100 Fly, and Zach Cain’s 200 Fly records.  NAPLES — As a sophomore last season, Molly DuBrasky took home a state title in the 500-meter freestyle and finished third in the 200 free. This season, with another opportunity in both events, she made sure she left with gold medals in both.
