GCST competed in the Swim Florida Pentathlon Meet in Ft. Myers and several good swims for our last meet of 2013.  Several swimmers won Top 8 trophies in the Pentathlon scoring. All GCST swimmers must complete the 2014 Registration through the website using “ Start Registration ” between now and December 31st . The Registration System will close on Dec. 31st, and reopen on Jan. 2nd with increased fees. Registration must be done with a credit card. Checks will not be accepted for registration. Unregistered swimmers will not be allowed to attend practice until this is completed. Masters swimmers must renew their USMS Membership through the USMS website here.

GCST finished 2013 with some impressive time drops and fast swims at the GSC Holiday Classic in Gainesville, FL on Dec. 6-8, 2013.  The team had 66% improved times, 4 event wins, 25 Top 8 finishes, 2 new team records, 45 new cuts, and finished 13th in team points as the 20th largest team in the meet. The 2014 GCST Winter Invite has been CANCELED due to liner repair problems at FGCU.   We considered running a smaller version of the meet in the 25 yard diving well pool, but that pool now has a torn liner needing repair, setting the entire project back on both pools.   The facility could potentially be closed for up to 2 months. We are looking at some other meets to attend in January.
