GCST swimmers that won Lee County Athletic Conference Championship Individual Titles are Kaitlyn Hauser in the 200 IM. Courtney DeVeny in the 100 Back. Blake Woodrow in the 200 IM, and 100 Fly. Savannah Bowser, Nikki McCollum, and Lexi Faunce won titles as part of winning relay teams for their schools. GCST attended the STAT Meet in Tampa, FL on October 13-14, 2012. The theme of the meet was "we race for pumpkins", and the GCST swimmers won a lot of heats to win pumpkins. Melene Kornya won 4 pumkins on Saturday with some very nice time drops. Bean Faunce won the Senior Girls High Point Award with 5 event wins. Kaitlyn Hauser won the Senior Girls 200 Free. The swimmers that attended the STAT meet and GCST Halloween party had a lot of fun on Saturday night at the hotel. Several rooms were decorated as haunted rooms and were pretty scary. The kids had an awesome scavenger hunt in the hotel and a pizza party afterwards. Another FUN outing for GCST swimmers and parents.
Several GCST Masters swimmers traveled to Siesta Key in Sarasota for the 10th Annual Tropical Splash Open Water event on Oct. 6, 2012. Jose Rodriquez won the over-all 1st place in the 1K race.
