SUNDAY FINALS: SEVERAL GOOD SWIMS FINISH SR. CHAMPS Lexi Faunce swam a very good 1500 Free to place 8th in the 15-16 Girls event and had a personal best time of 18:02.43 (-30.04), and swam a best time in the 200 Back prelims heats with a 2:32.63.  Nikki McCollum swam a personal best time in the 1500 Free to place 11th in the Senior Women's event with an 18:35.88 (-13.72).  Bean Faunce swam a 1:23.64 in the Senior Women's 200 Breaststroke to finish 6th in the B Final.  Michael Pineda...

Bean Faunce broke 3 GCST Records with 1 swam in the 13-14 Girls 200 Breastroke.  Her splits also broke team records in the 100 Breastroke, and 50 Breaststroke as she swam a 2:52.66.  She swam the event at the Florida Swimming Summer Senior Champs at Sarasota, FL.

28 GCST families logged over 75 hours in The Service Hours System to get a free month from Program Fees for the monht of August in the GCST Rewards Program.  Thanks to their hard work, we were able to run Southwest Florida's best swim meets and events.  Those going over 75 hours are: Albion, Benzon, Brewer, Bowser, Bravo, Deguzman, DeVeny, Fiore, Hauser, Heil, Holter, Ippolito, Jacobson, Jamieson, Kornya, Latorre, McAdams, McCollum, Medina, Moreland, Nielsen, Pelletier, Puckett, Saltus (Shaw), Subbert, VanDress, Walsh, and Woodrow. Great job GCST Parents!!!

Jessie Walsh broke the GCST Team Record in the 11-12 Girls 50 Breaststroke at FLAGS. Jessie swam a 39.05 to go under the old record held by Jackie McCaw set on June 18, 2004.

The GCST 13-14 Girls Relays composed of Paige Madden, Bean Faunce, Savannah Bowser, and Kaitlyn Hauser broke the old GCST 13-14 Girls 200 Medley, and 400 Medley Records at FLAGS.  The new records are now 2:13.04 in the 200 Medley, and 4:48.02 in the 400 Medley Relays.  The old records were 2:13.95, and 4:52.34 set in 2004.

SUNDAY PM:  FAUNCE SWIMS 2 FINALS...BOWSER TAKES 4TH IN 1500 Savannah Bowser finished 4th in the 13-14 Girls 1500 Free with a 17:34.47 (-17.59).  Kaitlyn Hauser finished 10th in the 13-14 Girls 1500 with an 18:17.20.  Bean Faunce had 2 swims in finals where she finished 12th in the 13-14 Girls 100 Fly with 1:09.21, and 13th in the 200 IM with a 2:32.26.  GCST finished the meet in 13th place out of over 50 teams entered. The new GCST Bonita Springs Team starts Monday July 23rd at 3:30 PM.  Workouts will be offered with Coach Bill Wood from 3:30 to 4:30 pm on Monday through Friday at the Bonita Springs Community Pool.  Summer Seasonal Registration is $45.50 good until August 31st, or $100 Annual Registration good until Dec 31st, 2012.   Contact Coach Wood at the pool at 947-1948 for more information or click here.

Thank you GCST Swimmers & Parents for a record breaking Swim-A-Thon 2012 fundraising event!  We exceeded our team goal of $15,000 raising a total amount of $17,346!!!  It was a great team effort and a demonstration of our commitment to GCST!!    Way to go!  As a reminder, donations and sponsorships are welcome throughout the year...same rules apply as Swim-A-Thon in regard to half the amount raised over the minimum available to you for swim related expenses.   Top Fundraisers have been identified and the incentive prizes will be distributed...

GCST had 8 swimmers compete in the Southern Zone Southern Sectionals. When it was over, we finished 20th out of 43 teams and had some very good time drops.  Matt Nielsen finished in the Top 10 twice with an 8th place finish in the 800 Free, and 10th in the 1500 Free.  Courtney DeVeny finished 10th in the 400 IM.  Molly Dubrasky finished 9th in the 400 Free.  Time drops were turned in by Lexi Faunce, Michael Pineda, Matt Nielsen, and Eddie Zacka.
