GCST Masters swimmer Travis Davis competed in the St. Pete Masters Long COurse Meet. Travis swam a 2:55.43 to win his age group in the 200 Back, and finish 4th overall. He also competed in the 200 Free and finished 2nd in age group and 7th overall with a 2:24.92, and won the 100 Free in the age group with a 1:08.47.

GCST Masters swimmer Ginger Tompkins competed in the US Masters Nationals at Omaha, NE. The event was held at the Century Link Center in the same pool that hosted the 2012 US Olympic Team Trials. Ginger finished 2nd in the 1500 Meter Free, and 3rd in the 200 Backstroke in her age group. Both swims were personal best times. Event Page

As many of you know, we lost a long-time member and dear friend of our GCST family who fought a very tough fight with breast cancer. Donna Jamieson's funeral will be on Saturday July 7th at 4 PM at the Christ Community Church at 4050 Colonial Blvd. in Fort Myers. There will be a reception after to remember Donna for our GCST family and friends. 27 GCST swimmers competed in the 2012 Shark Open at Sarasota on June 29-July 1. GCST won the 3rd place visiting team trophy. Shelby Jacobson made her first FLAGS cuts as she qualified in the 11-12 Girls 50 and 100 Backstroke events. The 23-year-old Winnetka, Ill. native, who qualified for the 800m freestyle relay in the 2012 London Olympics after coming in fourth place, trained upwards of six hours per day for almost an entire year, rarely taking a day off. Molly Dubrasky finished her last swim at 2012 Olympic Trials with an outstanding 2:15.12 personal best time in the 200 Fly to move from the 81st seed to the 42nd fastest qualifier in the Thursday morning prelim heats. Molly started the meet with the 100 Fly seeded 116th and swam a 1:02.25 to finish 99th. Molly also swam the 400 Free going in 73rd, and finished 96th with a 4:23.88.
