GCST's top high school swimmers have qualified for the FHSAA Region Meets. GCST swimmers had some great swims at the Spooktacular Swim Meet at Naples, FL on October 28-29, 2011.  Ther weather was frightful on Friday night, but cleared for some fast swimming on Saturday. Event Winners: Madi Baron, Elijah Benzon, Joshua Benzon, Zach Brewer, Jack Cornwell, Darrien Heil, Alexus Lawler, Paige Madden, Roe Marsala, Madeline McAdams, Mikayla Puckett, and Jesse Walsh. New Cuts: 16 new championship cuts were turned made at the meet. GCST had 142 best times. Full Meet Results

Courtney DeVeny, Danilea Jordan, and Blake Woodrow win District Titles GCST high school swimmers posted some impressive times at the 2A-10 District Meet with several personal best times.  Courtney DeVeny picked up 2 District Titles as she won the 200 IM (2:09.32), and the 100 Back (58.02).  Danilea Jordan won the District Title in the 100 Free with an outstanding 54.31.  Dani also finished 3rd in the 200 IM. Lexi Faunce finished 2nd in the 200 Free Final with a personal best 1:59.80, and finished 3rd in the 500 Free...

Hannah Albion, and Matt Nielsen won Double District 1A-9 titles on Thursday night as they both won the 200, and 500 Free events.  Nicholas Deguzman finished 2nd in the 200 IM, and 4th in the 500 Free with personal best times in both events. GCST Masters Swimmer and Coach Jill Moreland competed in her first International distance triathlon this past Sunday on Longboat Key in Sarasota. Jill had a great swim and was the 8th women out of the water out of 74 female competitors. Her total time to complete the 1/2 mile swim, 20 mile bike ride and 5 mile run was 2:06 and she finished 6th in her age group.
