GCST swimmers did very well at our first short course meet of the 2011-12 season.  We had 174 improved times, and 14 new championship qualifying times.   GCST parents did a great job working the meet.  Thanks to everyone that helped run this very large meet. Higher intake of vitamin C may be needed to maintain healthy tissues. Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid (ascorbate), is the most frequently taken dietary supplement in North America. Yet, despite its widespread use, national surveys report that 15 percent of the population still doesn’t get enough vitamin C to meet recommended amounts for health. The Fitter & Faster Tour was held today at FGCU, and was attended by about 50 swimmers.  Peter Vanderkaay, and Lacey Nymeyer, gave some great motivational talks, and spent some time in the pool with the swimmers.  

GCST Master Blanca Edwards Wins Female 45-49 As the rising sun peeked over the palm fronds Sunday morning, speckling the Gulf of Mexico with glimmering light, hundreds of swimmers rushed into the waters off of South Seas Island Resort for the first leg of the inaugural Galloway Captiva Triathlon.
