We had a visitor this morning at FGCU after starting our morning workout. Coach Don chased him from under the bulkhead and then trapped him with a net and removed the alligator. It was returned to it's habitat outside the pool.  Coach Don 1....Gators 0...

The 2009-10 NISCA High School All-American final lists were released and Molly Dubrasky, and Harry Stephenson made the lists.   Molly was ranked 43rd in the 200 Freestyle, and 27th in the 500 Freestyle.  Harry was ranked 118th in the 500 Freestyle. GCST had a great Summer Open meet at FGCU.  Blake Woodrow won the 13-14 Boys High Point Award. Eric Ordaz Jr. won the 11-12 Boys High Point Award.  GCST finished 2nd in the team standings behind the 1st place team with half the amount of swimmers. We had 51 New Championship qualifying times. 16 Event winners:  Kyle Snew, Audrey Delcompare, Michael Pineda, Blake Woodrow, Matt Nielsen, Eric Ordaz Jr., and Savannah Bowser. Mackenzie Arens and Hannah VanDress make 1st JO q-times in the 10 & under 200 free.

GCST  Masters competed in several Open Water events at the Open Water Festival hosted by GCST at Fort Myers Beach. 1.5k Results Heather Roka was 3rd over-all. Vanessa Brewer, and Jill Moreland were age group winners in the 1.5k.  Julie Errington finished 4th in her age group. 5k Results Wayne Hannum was 3rd in age group and 13th over-all. Aquathlon Results Zach Smith was 2nd age group, and 9th over-all.

GCST claims 2nd consecutive OW Championship...Savannah Bowser, and Hannah Albion are event champions. GCST claimed it's 2nd straight team title in the Florida Swimming Open Water Champiosnhips held on June 12th at Fort Myers Beach, FL.  GCST's 11-12 girls swept the event as they took first through third, with Savannah Bowser, Dani Lea Jordan, and Kaitlyn Hauser taking the honors. Hannah Albion won the 15-16 girls 5k race. Madi Baron, finished 2nd, and Hannah VanDress finished 3rd, and Lauren Brown finished 5th in the 10 & under girls. Michelle Wahlund...

Harry Stephenson swam a 4:41 400 IM, and a 4:12 400 Free at the Mare Nostrum Series Meet in Barcelona, SP. 

Based on his finish in the National 10k, GCST Senior swimmer, Harry Stephenson has qualifed to represent the USA in the Junior Pan Pacs. The meet will be held in Maui, Hi on August 23rd - 30th.  Harry will also compete in pool events as well as the open water events.
