I am the Masters / Senior Team Coach, and Team Director of Gulf Coast Swim Team. I'm also the President of Southwest Florida Swim Club, Inc.  I formed GCST on Sept. 1, 1998.  I have been coaching since 1975.  I grew up in Miami, FL and was a swimmer from 8 years old until I attended college at Indian River State College.

I have had several National Top 16 swimmers, Florida LSC Record Holders, National Age Group Record Holders, High School State Champions, Junior National Qualifiers, Senior National Qualifiers, and Olympic Trials Qualifiers during my coaching career.  

I'm  blessed with 2 daughters with my wife Connie, and they are coaches as well.  I have seven grandchildren that all are swimmers.

Coach Connie Henshaw is a graduate of Hialeah High School, and swam for Hialeah Swim Association and North Dade YMCA where she qualified for Senior Nationals in the 200 Butterfly. She was also one of the top female waterpolo players in the USA. 
Coach Connie has produced some of the fastest age group swimmers in the United States in the last 15 years, many National Top 16 swimmers, Florida LSC record breakers, and helped them reach the top with several #1 rankings and NAG records.  
She is married to Coach Don and has 2 daughters, Heather Fort, and Jen Seluk, as well as 7 grandchildren.

Coach Ginger has been a part of GCST since 2007 as a swim parent, USS swimming official, US Masters swimmer and USS coach. She swam for Sarasota YMCA Sharks and The Bolles School under legendary Olympic Coach Gregg Troy. She was a SEC Championship finalist,  All American Scholar Athlete and school record holder in several events while attending the University of Kentucky. After taking 20 years off of swimming, she returned to join GCST master swimming. She won a silver and bronze medal at the US Masters Nationals and a silver medal at the Masters Pan Am Games in the 5K open water and has medaled in several open water races around Florida. She holds a Bachelors degree in Food Science from the University of Kentucky and a Masters of Science from the University of Georgia. A water enthusiast, she enjoys coaching all ages and has experience with triathletes, marathon swimmers, USS pool swimmers and recreational athletes.
